The Start of PDS
The first official day of PDS has come and gone. We started off the week with the presentation of our PHMA Awards. This year’s recipients were: Rick Worrell – The Roger Seymour Superior Staff Award, Gail Fowler – The “Deke” Giles Award, and Mike Shelton – The Founder’s Award. Congratulations!
After the ceremony, Keynote Speaker Steve Ford, son of President Ford, shared stories from his experiences as the First Son and as an actor in Hollywood. His presentation was thoroughly enjoyed by the attendees who were in high spirits as they started their first round of courses.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in the scheduled training and visited the Trade Expo to meet our vendors. For information on the courses offered this year and on the vendors that participated in the Trade Expo please visit our PDS Website.
Video of the Award Ceremony is coming soon, so please check back to view the Awards.
Closing Pre-Week & Setting up the Show
Pre-week training has come to a close. Congratulations to those of you that earned certifications this past week through the various training courses that were offered! If you’re still in Atlanta next week, be sure to stop by the PHMA Certified Coffee on Wednesday morning where all of our certified students will be recognized for their achievements.
Classes for this week may be over, but we are still working away to get everything ready for the official start of our Professional Development Seminar and Trade Show. The past couple of days have been devoted to transforming the empty show space into our trade show:
Our Exhibitors will be coming tomorrow to start setting up. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see the empty booths’ transformations as we get closer to the start of the show.
As Pre-Week Training Continues…
RCI 105: RCI Asset Manager began today, joining the certification courses that have been running since the start of Pre-Week on Monday. During this course RCI Housing & Asset Managers are expected and encouraged to foster both a learning organization and continually improve their own personal skill sets. The seminar will further prepare these individuals to meet the external challenges that all projects will face as privatization matures past the Initial Development Period and to recognize the internal challenges that the changes in the workforce of the 21st Century will carry with them. For a more detailed description of RCI 105 please visit the PDS Website.
